Raquel Regalado has always been driven by a commitment to public service and a sense of responsibility to be a voice for the voiceless. As a parent of two children in the autism spectrum, Raquel was dissatisfied with public education options for children with disabilities and in 2010 ran for and was elected to the Miami-Dade County Public School Board.

During her two terms, she championed programs and services for special needs children and adults, and as the Facilities and Construction Committee Chair, spearheaded the oversight of public funds for the construction and renovation of public schools. She was also a leading advocate for public/private partnerships which provided resources to challenged schools and as Chairwoman of the Miami-Dade County Value Adjustment Board, she led the way in restructuring and recreating policies and procedures to eliminate the funding delays for our public schools.

As our County Commissioner, Raquel Regalado will be our voice on the issues that matter to our District and our residents.  From East Kendall to Pinecrest, from Coral Gables to the City of Miami and Key Biscayne, Raquel Regalado is ready to serve and bring solutions to our traffic woes, help protect and enhance our green spaces, protect our coastal communities and ensure that our District and our County are more resilient to weather events and sea level rise.
